SimpleStepsToday Program Description

The center of your experience with MyWellSteps is the behavior change programs called SimpleStepsToday. These programs are designed to help you change behaviors in a simple, fun way. You will receive our best selling books, program instructions, emails and updates to help you complete each program. You will be able to keep track of your own progress using the simple checklist and progress report.


Small Steps to Better Health. In the first 90 days, you will get a strong foundation for your long term success. It includes:

  • Important principles and guidelines for a healthy lifestyle.
  • Simple activities to get you moving.
  • Fun ways to start changing your eating habits.

These three groups of activities are combined in a few simple steps each week as follows:

  • Weeks 1-3: Your first few steps are to walk 5 minutes more each day, eat more fruits and vegatables, learn important principles of healthy living and complete a personal health assessment. For a sample of week 1: CLICK HERE!
  • Weeks 4-9: You will engage in MOVE IT! – an exercise program that encourages you to gradually step up your physical activity each week. Read (or listen) to a couple of chapters of the book, The Culprit and the Cure, which will educate you on how proper physical activity, eating healthy eating, and being smoke-free can change your life.
  • Weeks 10-13: Use the Stop and Go Fast Food Nutrition Guide, to show you how to navigate the fast food maze and identify the best fast food choices. Complete an additional simple exercise or other healthy activity each week.
  • Rewards: As you complete the program you will experience increased energy and better health. You will also receive reward points towards various gift cards.

CulpritCure_CoverSmallThe Culprit and The Cure

This program will help you understand why simple behavior change is important. You will get the best selling book by Dr. Steve Aldana that explains how moving your body, eating healthy foods and being smoke free can improve your life. The Culprit and the Cure takes the most recent scientific research and breaks it down into understandable, life changing principles. For those who would rather listen, it is also available to download in a MP3 format.
What you do: Read or listen to a couple of short chapters in The Culprit and The Cure each week and then answer a few questions so we can make sure you are grasping the principles.

 

runningMove It
This program is designed to encourage enjoyable physical activity that you do on your own, with your friends or family, or with your pet!
What you do: It’s simple and fun! You’re encouraged to simply increase your physical activity for SEVEN weeks. You choose a couple of forms of physical activity that you like. What you do is strictly up to you. You can include things like walking, gardening or even dancing. Naturally, things such as jogging, biking, or swimming also count. Then, you choose one or more people to be part of your support group, but group activity is not required. Plan ahead to schedule blocks of time for physical activity into your weekly schedule. Once the plan is in place all that's left to do is Move It and then log your time each week. The program only lasts for seven weeks, but the goal is to keep moving long after it's done!

This program will turn you into an expert on the nutritional quality of fast food. You get the ultimate “nutritional shopping guide” that will help YOU make the best decisions for your health every time you walk into a fast food or chain restaurant.
What you do: Read the brief introduction of The Stop and Go Fast Food Nutrition Guide and then use it when you go out to eat. Armed with this book, you will be able to make a healthy food choice. Over the course of the program, you will learn how to become your own guide and even share the information you learn with others.

After completing the 90-day program, members will start a second 90-day program that expands on the principles.

After completing 6 months, members can choose from a number of Individual Programs.
